As Hollywood...
Hey Gang,
As Hollywood does it morphs, it changes. It’s not the face of the industry that is ever seen, but a maskless void of a creature that has many forms and serves many masters. It is a monster to some, it is a mother to others (i supposse <shrug emoji>). But what you want from it is easier to get than ever before. At least i have to believe so.
As a former casting associate, and current actor / filmmaker, i’ve seen some sides of this thing. I’ve not seen even CLOSE to as much of it as i’d like, but Hollywood and i, we’re tight i think…
What i have noticed is that there is more access than i think was previously possible and obviously more outlets to create a space for your voice. There almost seems to be unlimited venues for the things you want to say to get said. Right? Just off the top of my head you’ve got substack ;), twitter, tiktok, instabook, youtube, fill in whatever medium and outlet you love. That’s where we’re at. Just make a space for yourself and let your audience be what they will be.
It may be a struggle for you. I am a pretty private person. I don’t like showcasing my every personal detail or most intimate thought. So i see these things as a challenge, but it’s a challenge that may benefit my long term career goals of being a working voice actor / show runner.
My dear friend Miles Allen carved out a space for himself on tiktok that got him an agent and he’s auditioning now and booking work. When he was about to resign his dreams just to pay some bills… It’s an amazing vast world we live in. Take hold and showcase your passions and see where it takes you. Some agent’s assistant may fall in love with your shit, or a casting assistant, or a writer / producer. Who knows? Make and make yourself heard.
